As restrictions ease and businesses in Kuranda begin to start trading again, the Visitor Information Centre will also re-open from Friday, 12 June 2020.

The Centre will open three days a week (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) between 10am – 3pm to provide visitor information to local and regional visitors.

Mayor Angela Toppin was optimistic about visitors returning to Kuranda following COVID-19. “I look forward to seeing more visitors explore the wonderful village in the rainforest,” Cr Toppin said.

“The staff at the visitor information centre will provide helpful information for visitors about what businesses and attractions are open.

“As restrictions ease, I encourage residents to visit their local communities and support local businesses as much as possible,” Cr Toppin said.

The fantastic volunteer service at the Kuranda VIC will remain suspended until further notice in their best interests. Council does not want to expose its volunteers to any potential risk.
