Council provides multiple parking places in Mareeba Shire, particularly in Mareeba and Kuranda, through a mix of on-street parking and off-street car parks.

Parking hours are monitored to ensure a regular turnover of vehicles to balance the needs of visitors, shoppers, businesses and employees.

The whole of Mareeba Shire Council has a general parking limit of 8 hours – 8.30am to 6.00pm Monday to Sunday. Outside these hours, time limits don’t apply. However, drivers must continue to abide by rules for disability parking, loading, bus and taxis zones, etc.

Parking times and hours at other locations may vary, so please check the signs before parking in the area.

The following time limits apply for Mareeba’s CBD (including the angle parking and central parking bays along Byrnes Street):

  • 2 Hour Parking Limit – 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday.
  • 2 Hour Parking Limit – 8.30am to 12.00 midday Saturday.

There are signs posted at various entry points into the CBD area advising of these restrictions.

The following time limits apply for the Kuranda CBD (including Coondoo Street, Therwine Street and Rob Veivers Drive):

  • 3 Hour Parking Limit – 9.00am to 3.00pm 7 days a week
