Fire danger season property preparedness tips:
- Slash or mow undergrowth (grasses and weeds) within 20 meters of dwellings and other structures and fire breaks around the property’s boundaries.
- Clear gutters of accumulated leaf litter.
- Trim or modify vegetation to ensure clearance of structures, not up against walls or overhanging, remove ladder fuels (between knee to eye) to keep fire on the ground.
- Remove other accumulated dead vegetation (fallen leaves, bark etc) from around.
