Council is trialling an exciting new recycling project at the Mareeba Transfer Station for e-waste. E-waste contains products that can be recycled and are not harmful to the environment. At least 90% of the materials in e-waste can be recovered!
The following items will be accepted for recycling, free of charge:
- Desktop and laptop computers and cables
- Tablets and notebooks
- Computer monitors and parts (eg. internal hard drives and CD drives)
- Computer peripherals and accessories (eg. keyboards, web cameras, USBs and modems)
- Printers, faxes, scanners and multi-functional devices
- All televisions
Please note that broken e-waste will not be accepted for recycling (eg. no broken screens).
Council will run the trial for six months to determine the community demand for the service.
