Drive left in Australia

By December 19, 2017No Comments

IN a bid to improve road safety, Mareeba Shire Council has commenced the installation of road signs across the Shire to remind motorists to drive on the left.
The joint initiative is supported by the Queensland Police Service, Department of Transport and Main Roads and other Councils in the Far North.
“Council is committed to improving safety for all road users across the Far North,” Cr Gilmore said.
“We have worked with Queensland Police to identify high risk sites across the region.
“We believe these signs will help remind overseas motorists to drive on the left and to travel safely in our Shire.”
Arrows are also being painted on the road in various locations to reinforce the keep left message.
