Council has been granted funding from the Queensland Government as part of the First Start Program to provide trainee opportunities for young Queensland school leavers and other job seekers.

Council is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual who is interested in undertaking a 12-month traineeship in Water Industry Operations.
The Role:
This traineeship is your gateway to completing a nationally recognised qualification while gaining invaluable mentoring and hands-on experience across diverse areas of Water Industry Operations.
What we are looking for:
- You will need to be a motivated individual who will positively contribute and work as part of a hardworking team
- You will need to have good verbal and written communications skills that will enable you to communicate effectively and complete course work to the required standard within the specified timeframe
- You will need to meet the prerequisite requirements and be eligible to enrol in an approved course
You will also need to satisfactorily pass a pre-employment medical assessment.
What we can offer you:
- Opportunity to undertake an accredited qualification – Certificate III in Water Industry Operations
- Above Award wages and conditions
- Commencing wage of $33,742 – $42,177 per annum depending on age if you are under 20
- Commencing wage of $56,237 per annum if you are over 20
- Mareeba Allowance – up to $2,080 per annum
