Come and work as a vital member of our Finance team here at Mareeba Shire Council, located within an easy one-hour drive from Cairns offering a regional lifestyle with all its benefits in relatively close proximity to Cairns.

The Role:

When our work crews need an item of small plant, a packet of screws, safety gear, chemicals or fuel they don’t go to the hardware shop or the petrol station, they go to Stores – our on-site, one-stop shop.  Council’s store is the hub of our depot and maintains a range of stock to rival any major hardware shop or warehouse.

The Stores Administration Officer is responsible for issuing and receiving material and stock at Council’s Stores facilities and ensuring inventory levels are maintained.

What we are looking for:

  • You will have sound computer skills and experience with inventory management and stock control
  • You will have solid communication skills and be used to interacting with suppliers and internal customers
  • You will have or be able to obtain a dangerous goods licence and forklift ticket
  • An awareness of ChemWatch or other type of system for the maintenance of Safety Data Sheets is desirable

  • LGOA Level 2/1 – $66,946 per annum
