ADOPTION OF AMENDED PLANNING SCHEME POLICY 4
Notice is given under the Sustainable Planning Act 2009, Statutory Guideline 04/14 Making and amending local planning instruments, that on 19 November 2014 Mareeba Shire Council resolved to adopt amendments to Planning Scheme Policy 4 of the Mareeba Shire Planning Scheme.
Planning Scheme Policy 4 is the FNQROC Development Manual.
The purpose of the amendment is to ensure that the Development Manual continues to be functional and represents “best practice” in accordance with accepted current state and national standards for design and construction.
The amended Planning Scheme Policy 4 (FNQROC Development Manual Version 6) will have effect on and from 1 December 2014.

Notification of Adoption of Planning Scheme Policy – Footpath Paving
In accordance with Statutory Guideline 02/12: Making and amending local planning instruments, Part 3, Stage 3, Step 5, 5.2A, notice is given that the Tablelands Regional Council adopted the following Planning Scheme Policy on 21 March 2013:
Mareeba Shire Planning Scheme Policy 11 – Footpath Paving for the Mareeba Shire Planning Scheme 2004
This Planning Scheme Policy will commence on 17 May 2013.
The purpose of this Planning Scheme Policy is to enhance the character and amenity of the main business streets of Council’s urban centre through the implementation of a footpath paving policy applicable to development or redevelopment of adjacent premises.

Notification of Adoption of Planning Scheme Amendment – Wind Farms
In accordance with Statutory Guideline 02/12: Making and amending local planning instruments, Part 2, Stage 4, Step 10, 10.2A(I), notice is given that the Tablelands Regional Council adopted the following Planning Scheme Policy on 19 September 2013.
Mareeba Shire Planning Scheme Amendment 01/11 – Wind Farms for the Mareeba Shire Planning Scheme 2004
This Planning Scheme Amendment will commence on 30 September 2013.
The purpose of this Planning Scheme Amendment is to amend the Mareeba Shire Planning Scheme 2004 by:
- Incorporating a land use definition of Wind Farm;
- Establishing an appropriate level of assessment for Wind Farms within each zone of the Planning Scheme; and
- Incorporating a development code for Wind Farms to establish appropriate assessment criteria for wind farm development.
