Mareeba Shire Council will be pleased to unveil the Mareeba CBD Project Blueprint Draft Masterplan for community comment at the upcoming community drop-in sessions.
This milestone follows extensive community engagement and the dedicated contributions of the Mareeba Blueprint Stakeholder Reference Group. With feedback gathered through previous workshops and surveys, Council has developed a Draft Masterplan which will be unveiled for public review in early November.
The key questions guiding Project Blueprint are simple said Cr Amy Braes.
“If we’re digging up the street to fix stormwater, what do we put back that truly works for our community and our visitors? How can we activate the CBD and create stronger economic outcomes for local businesses?”
Community members are invited to view the Draft Masterplan and share their thoughts at the following events:
Community Drop-In Sessions:
📍 Location: 117 Byrnes St, Mareeba (next to the Gateway Hotel)
📅 Thursday 6 November 2025 9:00am to 6:00pm,
📅 Friday 7 November 2025 7:00am to 3:00pm.
Councillors Connecting with Community at the Mareeba Markets:
📍 Mareeba Markets, Centenary Park
📅 Saturday 8 November 2025, 8am to 12pm.
Cr Amy Braes encourages the community to get involved.
“Project Blueprint is all about infrastructure but it’s more than that. It’s about shaping a CBD that reflects who we are as a community while creating a place that’s ready for the future.
I invite you to tell us what you think about the plan. Help Council to shape a town centre that supports business growth and celebrates what’s uniquely Mareeba.” said Cr Amy Braes.
