Mareeba Shire Council is looking for a motivated team player to help manage Council’s Stores — from issuing stock, PPE and fuel to unloading deliveries, maintaining inventory systems and keeping tools in service.
The Role:
When our work crews need an item of small plant, a packet of screws, safety gear, chemicals or fuel they don’t go to the hardware shop or the petrol station, they go to Stores – our on-site, one-stop shop. Council’s Stores is the hub of our depot and maintains a range of stock to rival any major hardware shop or warehouse.
The Stores Officer is responsible for issuing and receiving material and stock at Council’s Stores facilities and ensuring inventory levels are maintained.
What we are looking for:
- You will have sound computer skills and experience with inventory management and stock control
- You will have solid communication skills and be used to interacting with suppliers and internal customers
- You will have or be able to obtain a dangerous goods licence and forklift ticket
- An awareness of ChemWatch or other type of system for the maintenance of Safety Data Sheets is desirable

- Starting wage level for this position is LGOA Level 2/1 ($66,946 per annum) depending on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate
