As part of the National Kerbside Collections Roadmap, Mareeba Shire Council has received funding from the Queensland Government to upgrade our wheelie bin lids to red.
Red is the nationally recognised colour for general waste and this change will help ensure consistency across all Councils in Australia.
🗓️ Upgrade Timeline: 9 July – 23 July 2025
Please place your wheelie bin on the kerb on your regular collection day from 5am to 5pm to allow our staff to replace your lid during the two-week period.
Contractors aim to replace as many lids as possible during the fortnight. If your bin is missed, your lid will be replaced at a later date.
The old green and yellow lids will be recycled.
