To celebrate QLD Youth Week 2026, Fresh Start Academy is returning to offer free haircuts at all our library branches!
Fresh Start Academy, a Cairns-based barber training program, supports at risk youth by helping them build confidence and skills through high quality barber training.
Mareeba Shire Libraries are proud to partner with Fresh Start Academy for this special event. Four trainee barbers, along with their educator, will be offering the latest cuts and styles for ages 4 and up — completely free!
Choose from epic styles like:
Short back & sides, low/mid/high taper, fade, or burst fade.
Not sure what to choose? Chat with the barbers and find the look that suits you best!
No need to book — just show up and get your free cut.
Let’s support these amazing young people as they build skills and chase their dreams! 💈✨
For ages 4 and up.
Parental/guardian consent is required for those 15 and under.
