Mareeba Shire Council is celebrating Seniors Month this October with a series of free Seniors Morning Teas across the Shire, bringing older residents together for connection, entertainment and valuable community information.
The highly anticipated Mareeba Seniors Morning Tea, to be held on Friday 16 October 2026, is already fully booked, highlighting the strong interest and enthusiasm from local seniors.
Mareeba Shire Mayor Angela Toppin said it was wonderful to see so many seniors eager to participate in this year’s event.
“Mareeba Seniors Morning Tea booked out very quickly this year. The event provides a wonderful opportunity for seniors to connect with friends, meet new people and enjoy a fun morning out in the community,” said Mayor Toppin.
Attendees will enjoy an information expo featuring local organisations and service providers, offering useful information and support for seniors. The morning also includes a delicious morning tea, live entertainment, games and plenty of opportunities for social interaction.
The Mareeba Seniors Morning Tea is proudly supported by the Queensland Government and Council on the Ageing (COTA) Queensland.
While the Mareeba event is fully booked, Council is also supporting Seniors Month celebrations in other communities across the Shire, ensuring residents have opportunities to get involved and enjoy the month-long program.
“Seniors Month is a chance to recognise and celebrate the valuable contribution older people make to our communities,” Mayor Toppin said.
Residents are encouraged to contact these organisations directly for further information and to book.
