The Dinner & Disaster event returns to the Mareeba Drive-In on Friday, 16 October 2026, offering a free evening of disaster preparedness, community information and family-friendly entertainment from 4pm.
The event aims to help residents prepare for the upcoming disaster season by connecting them with local emergency services and disaster management agencies.
Attendees will have the opportunity to chat with emergency service personnel, gather preparedness resources and learn practical tips for developing emergency plans, packing disaster kits and staying informed during severe weather events.
As part of the evening, community members will be invited to watch a special presentation, Stories of Jasper… 2 Years On, reflecting on the impacts, recovery and lessons learned following Tropical Cyclone Jasper.
The evening will conclude with a free screening of the family movie The Wild Robot, providing an opportunity for residents to relax and enjoy a night out while reinforcing the importance of preparedness and community resilience.
Food and drinks will be available for purchase from the Mareeba Drive-In Café throughout the evening.
