Mareeba Shire Council is asking the community to submit their favourite recipe as part of the Shared Table cookbook, celebrating Local Government Association of Queensland’s 130th anniversary.
“Fantastic cooking comes down to having access to delicious fresh produce, and in the Mareeba Shire, we are so lucky to produce some of Australia’s best,” said Mareeba Shire Mayor Angela Toppin.
“We have been invited to submit a recipe to be featured in a Queensland-wide cookbook, which will include a recipe from different local council areas.”
Mareeba Shire is home to 75 different cultural backgrounds, creating a diverse and colourful palette of flavours and dishes.
We want to hear from you! Do you have a family recipe passed down through the generations, does your restaurant have a signature dish, do you know a great home cook?
Submit your recipe by Sunday, 14 June 2026.
