Tate River Crossing Upgrade
Work has started on the Bolwarra Road Tate River Crossing renewal / upgrade.
The existing causeway crossing over the Tate River requires significant repair work. The causeway is too low and is regularly overtopped by flood waters, which creates a severe safety hazard during the wet season for motorists. Works will improve the causeway’s flood immunity.
Works will include raising the height of the Tate causeway, straighten and widen to 4.5m width for the length of the causeway.
The project is funded through the Federal Government’s Roads to Recovery Program, the Queensland Government’s Building Our Regions Program and the Community Resilience Fund.
Works are scheduled to be complete by the start of the wet season.
